šSome say we all make mistakes, and we shouldn't be concerned if leaders live unholy lives, or have issues with habitual sin. šSome say, "God is forgiving, look at all the people who He used who were messed up in the bible...like King David". Sorry folks..that simply isn't true or biblical! He was forgiving if they messed up, realized what they had done, and truly repented...not if they continued doing what they were doing, and pretended like things were fine. Remember "IF" we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1Jn 1:9). The point is to confess and be cleansed from all unrighteousness...not to live in it! Holiness may not be a popular message here on earth, but it is very popular in heaven! šFor those who think that we shouldn't expect believers, and especially leaders in the body of Christ, to lead pure and holy lives, let's take a look at what Paul writes to the Church at Ephesus. Just some of many verses I could pull from to make this point. Pretty clear I think... "not even a hint of sexual immorality"...šššš "But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for Godās holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy personāsuch a person is an idolaterāhas any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things Godās wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visibleāand everything that is illuminated becomes a light." ~ #Ephesians 5:3ā-ā¬9ā, ā¬11ā-ā¬13Ā
