Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches'." ~ Revelation 2:4-5, 7 ⏩And let us remember, this is Jesus speaking to believers here, and yes it is in the New Testament...and yes, it is under the current "Grace Era". Those who say there is no need for repentance after original repentance at salvation are teaching heresy, and they need to read these and many other verses that speak about ongoing Christian repentance. Let those who have an ear, hear what the Lord is saying to The Church! 👂 Many love to quote and speak about the spirit of prophecy that is spoken of in Joel 2, the former rain and the latter rain...but many fail to read other parts of that same chapter and see what happens before those things. We must see and perceive what all is for us when reading this chapter...perhaps more of it than we ever realized! The same God who we see sending the former rain and the latter rain, is the same God that speaks these other words to His prophet Joel, and He is the same God we serve today. Let us know God in His fullness, and not only in our preconceived ideas of what we want Him to be. As I have said many times before, He is as much Father (Disciplinarian & Corrector), as He is Abba (loving, doting Daddy)...no more one than the other, just displayed different at different times, when needed. Let us read a few passages from Joel below👇, and let us notice that repentance and a "rending of the heart" comes before the oil and rain are poured out, and before His Spirit is poured out in greater measure on the young and old...and so will it be in these days! As we repent as a church, and as a nation, and return to the ancient paths (the highway of holiness), then will the Lord begin to pour out His Spirit in ways that we have never known! Just as it was in the days of the previous Great Awakenings in this land, so will it be now...a great spirit of repentance will precede a great and mighty outpouring of His Spirit! Repentance precedes Glory! Especially during this time of Teshuvah (Return & Repent) leading up to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), let us return to the Lord with our whole heart, and let us repent and change our minds and ways from the things that have not been in righteousness. Let us prepare ourselves, and heed His call to repentance! Now is the Time, to turn our hearts back to our God! ❤🔄⏰🙏🙌🌎 💔⏩ "So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him...? Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord , and do not give Your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, And pity His people. The Lord will answer and say to His people, 'Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, And you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations. Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; Your old men shall dream dreams; Your young men shall see visions; And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls." ~ Joel 2:13-19, 23-25, 28-32
