An amazing thing to watch and be a part of yesterday! A historical day...and so many spiritual implications. The ending of an era, and the beginning of a new one.đŹđ§ #GodRestTheQueen
The pictures below are of my favorite part of the service, and what I believe was one of the most significant. Her royal crown, scepter, and orb (sphere with cross on top - signifying that her rule & reign come from God), are taken from on top of her coffin, and given to the minister, where he then takes them and places them in their respective places on the high altar.
This is to signify that her reign is officially over, and that which was given to her by God at her coronation, when she held the scepter and orb, was anointed with holy oil and the crown placed upon her head for the first time in 1953...is now given back to God at the altar. That which came from Him now goes back to Him. Powerful!
They said this is also to show that she will meet God, not as a Queen, but simply as His servant and a humble, Christian woman.
Here's what happens when she was anointed, under a canopy, which they did because they felt it was a holy moment...
"From the flask, the archbishop poured some 'blessed oil' of orange, roses, cinnamon, musk and ambergris, and anointed the Queen in the form of a cross, on the palms of her hand, on the breast bone and on the crown of her head.
As he did so, he whispered these words: "Be thy hands anointed with holy oil, Be thy breast anointed with holy oil...Be thy head anointed with holy oil: as kings, priests, and prophets were anointed; And as Solomon was anointed king by Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet, so be you anointed, blessed and consecrated Queen over the Peoples, whom the Lord thy God hath given thee to rule and govern."
When we realize what happened then, then what happened today becomes so much more significant. What was given and received, has now been returned to God from which it was given. They understand anointing, mantles, and authority much more than most of us, even in the Church! đŞđ Lord help us understand and perceive "Kingdom" principles! đđť
One of the ministers at this particular service read the following verses from the book of Revelation. So fitting and awesome, and I loved that so many people heard these verses today, along with many others. đ
Truly a day that many will remember for our entire lifetime.đĽ˛đ
"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.' Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.' And He said to me, 'It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.'" - Revelation 21:1â-âŹ7
The link HERE is a short video of what was depicted of her coronation in the series "The Crown"... it doesn't do it complete justice, but they stayed as close to it as possible.
