Pentecost (Shavuot) is a harvest feast where we celebrate the amazing provision of the Lord, including multiplication, revelation and Holy Spirit empowerment.
The festival also celebrates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai, as well as the grain harvest for the summer. In biblical times, Shavuot was one of three pilgrimage festivals in which all the Jewish men would go to Jerusalem and bring their first fruits as offerings to God.
This was the celebration of the first fruits of harvest season.
And then...there came a new harvest. A harvest of souls, when the Ekklesia of God was birthed, and began to multiply daily!
"When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." ~ Acts 2:1-4
Thank you, Lord...for all of Your provision, but most importantly, for the provision of Your Spirit in us and on us!
Holy Spirit, come and fill us afresh once again! We need You now more than ever! 🙏🏻🔥🙌
